Years ago, I was involved in a serious car accident that fractured two vertebrae in my back. The rehabilitation process was long and slow, and massage therapy became a vital part of my recovery. I did not just benefit from the treatment — I genuinely enjoyed it. When I eventually moved to Canada and was looking for a new direction, I kept coming back to that experience. I remembered how much massage had helped me, both physically and emotionally, and I knew I wanted to give that same relief to others. I graduated from Vickars School of Massage Therapy in 2012, and I have not looked back since.
Living through my own spinal injury gave me something that no textbook could — a deep, personal understanding of how back injuries and chronic pain affect every part of a person's life. I know what it feels like to wonder if your body will ever work the way it used to. That experience drives everything I do on the table today. I am a firm believer that massage does not have to hurt to be effective. I have no patience for the "no pain, no gain" mentality. If something hurts, that is your body telling you something is wrong, and ignoring that signal helps no one. I deliver deeply therapeutic work that also feels good, because I know from my own recovery that both things can happen at the same time.
What I love most about this work is the variety — whether it is a back injury, a sprained ankle, or a stubborn case of tendonitis, I come alive when I am problem-solving with my hands. I am big on education, too. I want my clients to understand how their muscles work, why they are feeling pain, and what they can do at home to keep improving between sessions. After every treatment, I go back to my textbooks to make sure I delivered the best possible care and to think about what I can do even better next time. I also volunteer at women's shelters giving chair massages, because I believe everyone deserves access to the kind of relief that massage can provide.
I believe that massage can be both deeply therapeutic and genuinely relaxing at the same time — and that is exactly what I aim for in every session. My primary tools are trigger point therapy, myofascial release, and silicone cupping, and I use them to address the root cause of pain rather than just chasing symptoms. But effective treatment is only half of the equation. I put a real emphasis on client education — explaining why a muscle is causing you trouble, how it connects to your movement patterns, and what you can do about it outside of our sessions. I always send my clients home with stretches and self-care strategies so the progress we make together carries forward.
I am also someone who never stops learning. After each session, I review what I did and think about how I can refine my approach for next time. I stay current with continuing education and I am always looking for new techniques and evidence that can help my clients get better results. Whether you are recovering from an injury, managing chronic pain, or simply want therapeutic bodywork from someone who takes the time to understand your body, I would love to work with you.
